Eggs Benedict for breakfast, please
Warm waffles in red berry sauce and a dollop of vanilla clotted cream.
Then came the time to question the mother of all breakfasts - pancakes.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or so they say. Who doesn't know that? I for one am not a breakfast person. Half a cup of coffee could sort me out for at least three hours after I wake up. But after that I need my fix. An egg, or a rice pancake, and some chai.
My tummy usually picks around 9am-10am to begin churning. And luckily for the said tummy, I was at Cocoa Room at The Galleria Mall on Al Wasl Road in Dubai. There to try out their new breakfast of sandwiches, waffles, pancakes and eggs, prepared with the most glorious of sauces, I found myself wanting to try everything on that menu.
So I went with Mexican Ranchero Benedict. On a bed of rustic brown bread, lay a layer of refried beans, Mexican herbs, topped with a glorious poached egg, cooked to near perfection. To make it even better was the well-made red chilli hollandaise sauce and generous garnish of herbs, where every bite, I can assure you, was a mouthful of goodness.
On the side I ordered for a bowl of creamed spinach. I'm not sure if they needed that one on the menu, but I could give it a pass. Unless, you're absolutely in love with spinach, or cream, or both.
A cold glass of pineapple juice helped me wash that down with ease.
Then came the time to question the mother of all breakfasts - pancakes. I was almost certain I was going to try the pancakes. But before I could place my order, the table next to me had their pancakes served. The look on those chubby round breakfast pancakes changed my mind in an instant. I tried the waffles instead.
Warm waffles in red berry sauce and a dollop of vanilla clotted cream was a dessert decision that made me happy. And making me smile a little more was that heavenly salted caramel sauce on the side. Oh my my! I wish I could take some home with me.
I'd need a few more visits to try everything on the menu, and I think I just might.
